Maureen Denise McCormick was born on 5 August 1956 in Woodland Hills California the youngest and sole daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her father taught in the school system and her mother was a stay-at-home mother. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her brothers older than her. McCormick started singing and performing from a young age. When McCormick was six years older, she was crowned her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency called to ask her if she'd like to go into the show business. McCormick found her first role as an actress major in the year 1964. She was featured in a commercial for Mattels' newest doll Baby Pattaburp. In the year that followed, she appeared in another television commercial for Chatty Cathy's doll. The following year, McCormick was commissioned by La Jolla Playhouse to play the part of Wind It up before It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned to play the oldest daughter in the trio of towheaded girls on The Brady Bunch. The show starred Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a blended family. The show lasted five years. McCormick's book Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was released in the year 2008. In it she revealed the fact that McCormick nearly lost her virginity on the stage of the show during the fifth season when it was played by Barry Williams. At the time, she was just 16 years old and he was 19. It was likely that we would have a romantic couple, she added. However, the timing was not the right time.
